Buy iCloud storage and apps via iDEAL
To get more memory on your iPhone (or iPad), you need an iCloud storage plan. To do this, you must first put money on your Apple ID, so that your iCloud subscription is paid for. You can put money on your account in different ways, for example it is possible to buy gift cards and add them.
A much more convenient way to pay is to link iDEAL to your Apple ID. By linking iDEAL to your account, you increase the balance on your Apple ID directly from your bank account. You then use this balance to pay for apps (or subscriptions) in the App Store and automatically pay for your iCloud subscription.
This is how you link iDEAL to Apple ID and iCloud
Super handy, but how do you set up this function? To pay with iDEAL for iCloud, you must add a payment method in ‘Settings’. You link iDEAL to iCloud in the following way:
- Open ‘Settings’;
- Tap your Apple ID;
- Choose ‘Payment and shipping’;
- Go to ‘Add payment method’;
- Tap on ‘iDEAL’ and enter the bank details.
If you have correctly entered the card details in iDEAL, it is then possible to link subscriptions to this payment method. For example, you do not have to increase the balance on your Apple ID every month, because you have purchased more storage from iCloud, for example. Make sure you keep an overview of which subscriptions you link to iDEAL, otherwise the costs can quickly add up.
Why take out an iCloud subscription?
Taking out an iCloud subscription is an easy way to add more storage and functions to your Apple device. With iCloud Plus you can choose between 50, 200 or 1000 GB of storage, and you also get functions such as Private pass-through and Hide my e-mail address. iCloud is accessible via any Apple device, so you always have all your files at hand – regardless of the device you use.
In addition to more storage space, you get the Private Relay function (in English the function is called Private Relay) with iCloud Plus. With this setting, surfing the internet is safer than ever. Your internet traffic is then encrypted, so no one sees which websites you visit. That way your IP address, location and other sensitive internet data are protected.
An iCloud Plus subscription costs between $0.99 and $9.99 per month, depending on how much extra storage you want. As far as we’re concerned, this amount is definitely worth it, because your files and photos are safe in a cloud and they won’t be lost if your phone is stolen. Payment is no longer a problem, especially now that it is possible to link iDEAL to your iCloud!
