Although the content was hardly changed, BioWare pulled out the red pencil for Mass Effect-Legendary Edition at some points. The DLC Pinnacle Station from Mass Effect 1 was involuntarily deleted, but other game content was changed on purpose.
In the old trilogy, primarily in Mass Effect 2, there were some cutscenes in which female characters were from very questionable camera angles were shown. For example, that one Looking under the dress of the female Commander Shepard in the Shadow Broker DLC. While the wide-legged sitting position did not cause any problems for the male Shepard, who always wore trousers, the tight-fitting N7 dress of the female commander was not cut for this position and the camera angle.
Miranda Lawson and that ONE scene
With the “Ass-Effect-Meme” a cutscene during the loyalty mission for Miranda Lawson has achieved questionable fame. During a dialogue between her and Commander Shepard the developers decided on a camera angle at the level of Miranda’s bottom and let it take up a large part of the screen at the same time. The whole thing happens. while Miranda talks about her complex family situation and Shepard asks for help.
Changes for the Legendary Edition
In an interview with Metro, developer Kevin Meek explains that they do the animations could not change, but the camera positions have adapted so that they better fit the content of the discussions. According to Project Director Mac Walters, this happened in some scenes that had to be reconsidered from today’s perspective.
There can be no question of censorship here. The story surrounding Miranda has not changed, and the option to enter into a relationship with her remains unchanged. BioWare only took the chance to rework some sexist scenes, like the look at Miranda’s butt while talking about her little sister.
