Leaked: Snapdragon 775 makes giant leap forward
A leaked specs sheet of the Snapdragon 775 reveals that the processor is making a massive catch-up on the 800 series.
Qualcomm is reportedly gearing up for a next generation of Snapdragon processors. The Snapdragon 775 should succeed the 765 series, but goes much further than that. According to a leaked internal document, the upcoming mid-ranger changes the production process, suddenly thinning the line between mid and high end.
Snapdragon 775 specs leaked
The internal document held by XiaomiUI (spotted by XDA Developers) reveals all the specs of the upcoming processor. The most surprising aspect of the 775 is the fact that it is made on a scale of 5nm. As a successor to the 765 series (7nm), it therefore fundamentally receives significant advantages. The 5nm production process ensures a faster and more energy-efficient processor.
Furthermore, there are a lot of other technical specs with the leaked processor. Think of support for LPDDR5 RAM memory (at 3200Mhz). Currently, there are only a few smartphones with an 800 series processor that support such a fast RAM.
The Snapdragon 775 would also support up to UFS 3.1 storage space, get a new configuration Kryo 6-series CPU cores and support solid camera specs; three 28MP cameras at the same time or 64MP + 20MP video (30fps).
All these features can make the Snapdragon 775 a true flagship killer beast. Since the reigning 800 series is also produced at 5nm, the theoretical mid-ranger makes life miserable for the high-end king.
Of course, this gigantic progress is based on the leaked sheet; it could just be that the name of the processor is incorrect, or that the information is inaccurate. We are reported to hear more very soon when the Lite variant of the Xiaomi Mi 11 is announced.
