iOS 16 keyboard: comes with vibrate function
Actually, it shouldn’t get any crazier, but Apple is going to take over a popular function from Android. In iOS 16 it will be possible to turn on keyboard feedback. With this feature, you can feel the iPhone vibrate very gently when you type on the keyboard.
The vibration function has been on Android smartphones for years and is a much requested feature for iOS. It was already possible to add the vibration function via detours and a ‘jailbroken’ iPhone (an iPhone with which you can install apps that are not in the App Store). But now Apple finally seems to be building in an official, proprietary way.
To enable the feature in iOS 16, follow the steps below:
iOS 16 keyboard: turn on vibrate (keyboard feedback)
- Tap the ‘Settings’ app;
- Scroll down and tap Hear & Feel;
- On the next page, scroll down again and tap ‘Keyboard Feedback’;
- Set the slider at ‘Tactile’ to on.
Sound and tactile
In iOS 15 (and earlier), it is only possible to make a sound when you tap a key on the keyboard. With iOS 16 you will soon be able to hear and feel typing on the keyboard. It is of course also possible to turn off both functions (or one of the two functions).
