Joe Biden touts investments in high-tech industry
US President Joe Biden has traveled to New York State to tout massive investments in the semiconductor industry, in an attempt to convince Americans that the economy is on the right track within two weeks of the midterm elections.
Joe Biden celebrated there the promise of the American technology giant Micron to invest up to 100 billion dollars over more than 20 years in the construction of the largest semiconductor factory in the United States. The project is part of the group’s strategy to increase the production of electronic components in the United States.
The Biden administration has made relocating tech industries and investment to the country a priority, and the president hopes to convince some voters that his administration’s efforts are bearing fruit.
“For years, areas like central New York and the industrial Midwest have been emptied as manufacturing jobs have moved overseas. This administration is changing that.”, said the White House in a statement.
