Jack Dorsey Approves Elon Musk’s Twitter Takeover
The acquisition of Twitter by Elon Musk for 44 billion dollars has been official since April 25 and Jack Dorsey approves it. The co-founder and ex-boss of the social network shared his feelings through a few tweets.
Jack Dorsey’s reaction to Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter
Jack Dorsey begins his series of tweets indicating that “Twitter is the closest thing we have to a global consciousness”. He goes on to state that “Twitter as a business has always been my only problem and biggest regret. She was owned by Wall Street and the advertising model. Taking it back to Wall Street is the right first step”. Indeed, Elon Musk will take the social network out of the Stock Exchange to make it a private company.
The idea and service is all that matters to me, and I will do whatever it takes to protect both. Twitter as a company has always been my sole issue and my biggest regret. It has been owned by Wall Street and the ad model. Taking it back from Wall Street is the correct first step.

He admits that he is not a fan (in principle) of the idea that a person can own Twitter, judging that it must be “a public good at the protocol level, not a company”. Still, he thinks Elon Musk is the right person to take control of the platform. “When it comes to the business problem, Elon is the only solution I trust. I trust in his mission to expand the light of consciousness”says Jack Dorsey.
Still according to Jack Dorsey, Elon Musk’s desire to open Twitter to create a platform of maximum confidence and broadly inclusive “is the good one”. He adds that it is also the idea of Parag Agrawal, the current boss of the social network. “Thank you both for getting the company out of an impossible situation. This is the right way…I believe it with all my heart”.
Jack Dorsey concludes by saying: “I am very pleased that Twitter continues to serve the public conversation. Around the world, and in the stars! ». The takeover by Elon Musk will be concluded in the course of 2022, the time to obtain all the necessary validations from the authorities.
I’m so happy Twitter will continue to serve the public conversation. Around the world, and into the stars!
