Is this what the new Oppo Reno 7 Pro looks like?
Oppo has registered a new patent in the field of design. According to rumors, the registration shows what the new Oppo Reno 7 looks like. A quad camera, a curved screen: these are not grotesque changes.
Midrange Oppo Phone
Oppo’s Reno series is the midrange and an announcement is expected this year. For Oppo’s new high-end line, Find, we have to wait until 2022. There are also two budget series, namely A and K. Almost all lines are known in the Netherlands, but many Oppo’s are also made that remain in Asia. It is expected that this will also be the case with this patented device. It would be the Oppo Reno 7 Pro and it has been registered with the China National Intellectual Property Administration.
The screen is quite large and rounded with thin bezels. The left side of the phone is used for volume keys, the right side for the power button and at the bottom you can store your SIM card and there is a USB-C port for charging (and earphones). This Reno does not have a ‘shark fin’ as we saw on previous devices, but it does have a ‘perforation hole’ where the selfie camera is located.

The rear cameras are in the top left corner. The specifications are still unknown, but there are three cameras below each other with four smaller sensors or flashes underneath. It seems that there is a small fourth camera on the right, but in one image this is the case and in the other it is not. This also applies to the front just described: there is also a camera without a perforation hole, which makes it think of a camera under your screen pixels.
It is still guesswork if this is really a Reno device and when it will appear. The previous Reno dates back to September 2021. We wrote about Oppo Reno 6 Pro: “This OPPO Reno 6 Pro has mainly left a positive impression. It feels premium, it looks nice, performs very fast, has a very nice screen and three excellent cameras. The device almost sounds like the ideal son-in-law, or your child who can show a good school report. In short, the Reno 6 Pro will make you happy.”
Only the price tag of 799 euros was a bit much, although that device is now available for 100 euros less. We will see whether Oppo is indeed still planning to announce the Reno 7 this year and whether that indeed corresponds to the patent registration.
