iPhone will not get Touch ID under the screen for the time being
According to a well-known good, we should not expect an iPhone with Touch ID under the screen in the coming years. Because Face ID with a face mask works well enough, Apple has no plans to return the fingerprint scanner.

‘No Touch ID on new iPhones’
It has been rumored for years that Apple is working on the return of Touch ID to the iPhone. This would involve a fingerprint scanner under the screen, such as the Samsung Galaxy S22, for example.
The famous Apple insider Ming-Chi Kuo previously predicted that Apple would release an iPhone with Touch ID and Face ID in 2023. He’s coming back to that now. He expects that the fingerprint scanner will not make a comeback on high-end iPhones either next year or in 2024. The affordable iPhone SE 2022 still has an old-fashioned home button with Touch ID.
This raises the question of whether we will ever see an iPhone with a fingerprint scanner under the display. The main reason for bringing Touch ID back was to give users an extra way to unlock their iPhone in corona time. From iOS 15.4, however, you can also use Face ID with a mouth cap. Moreover, the pandemic seems to be coming to an end.
Face ID is here to stay
There was never any talk of Apple saying goodbye to Face ID. In many cases, facial recognition works much easier than scanning your fingerprint.
However, Apple is working on a method to slowly phase out the notch, which is necessary for the underlying technology. On the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, it is replaced by two small holes in the screen. This results in a rather controversial design that does not appeal to everyone.
