iPhone sales fell in France in 2021, Xiaomi overtakes Apple
Sales of smartphones in France for the year 2021 are revealed thanks to the firm Canalys and they are down for Apple and Samsung. Conversely, Xiaomi and Oppo are progressing well.
Samsung and Apple retreat in France
Samsung remains the leading smartphone vendor in France with a 27% share. Despite everything, sales were down 31% compared to 2020. The Galaxys were of less interest to the French, who notably preferred to turn to Xiaomi. The Chinese manufacturer is second with a market share of 23%. Its sales increased by 45%. Xiaomi has also published a tweet to congratulate itself.
We are growing year after year and it’s all thanks to you!

Comes Apple in third place with a market share of 22%. Tim Cook’s company is therefore very close to Xiaomi, but the latter still manages to do better. Regarding sales, it is down 11% for the iPhone in France.
The rest of the top 5 wraps up with Oppo in fourth place, with an 8% market share and sales up 71%. The fifth is Wiko with a market share of 5% and sales down 3%.
It will be interesting to see if Apple manages to move up the rankings with iPhone sales in 2022. Who knows, maybe the iPhone 14 will help the manufacturer. After all, rumors say that the iPhone 14 Pro will no longer have a notch as we know it today. This might push some people to buy these models.
