iPhone 14 Pro: the pill and the hole would be “gathered” with the screen on
For several months now, we have been hearing about the removal of the notch on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max to have a pill and a hole instead. The two elements for Face ID and the front photo sensor have always been presented as being separate. But the two could actually be one when the screen is on.
MacRumors reports that Apple would take care of turning off the pixels between the pill and the hole to make it look like a single module with no separation. On the other hand, Apple reportedly intends to visually extend the blacked out areas around the cutouts to accommodate content. For example, the manufacturer could expand the area slightly to place status icons on the left and right sides.
A similar scenario is discussed on the side of Chinese social networks, with leaks that would come from employees of Foxconn, namely the main group that assembles iPhones.
Apple will formalize the iPhone 14 during its September 7 keynote. There will be four models: two standard 6.1 and 6.7 inches, and two Pro models 6.1 and 6.7 inches. Until now, it had been said that the standard 6.7-inch model would be called iPhone 14 Max. But a leak published today suggests that it will be iPhone 14 Plus.
