iPhone 14 Pro: the GPS is down in some with the beta of iOS 16.1

Users who have installed the iOS 16.1 beta on their iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro Max report having problems with the GPS, to the point that it does not work normally.

This is a beta and a brand new iPhone, so we can suspect that some bugs may exist. But it is true that this one in particular can make you smile when you know that the iPhone 14 Pro precisely offers… better support for the GPS. Indeed, both smartphones have high-precision dual-frequency GPS, as Apple explains. But there is a problem with the current iOS 16.1 beta, points out MacRumors.

If you have an iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max, stay on iOS 16.0.1 for now and wait before eventually installing the iOS 16.1 beta. This is an opportunity to remember that it is not advisable to install a beta version on your main device, knowing that problems like today’s with GPS may exist.

Apple does not yet say when the final version of iOS 16.1 will be available for download on the various iPhones. Last year, iOS 15.1 was released at the end of October. We can therefore imagine that the release for iOS 16.1 will be more or less at the same time this year.
