iPhone 14 Pro camera gets even more spectacular thanks to these features

The new iPhone 14 Pro (Max) will be announced on September 7 during the iPhone 14 event. According to a new rumor, the ultra-wide-angle lens of the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max is getting two new features that make it much better.

Read on after the ad.

Ultra wide-angle lens iPhone 14 Pro

Both the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max get an ultra-wide-angle lens with a larger sensor. At the same time, this also means that the pixels are larger. The result is that you take photos with more light and less noise, without having to edit the photos afterwards. This is especially an advantage in poor lighting conditions.

The rumor was made public on Twitter by the well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. We generally regard his information as very reliable. We therefore assume that the Pro models will indeed get an ultra-wide-angle lens with a larger sensor.

Comparison iPhone 13 Pro

The iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max have an ultra-wide-angle lens with pixels of 1.0µm (micrometer) pixels. With the ultra-wide angle lens of the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max, this would be increased to 1.4µm pixels.

A number of parts for the new ultra-wide-angle lens would be up to 70 percent more expensive. According to Kuo, these parts are supplied by Sony, Minebea, VCM, Largan and LG Innotek. It is therefore expected that the new Pro models will become a lot more expensive because of this.

More camera upgrades

As mentioned, it has been known for some time that the Pro models get a wide-angle lens of 48 megapixels, with which you can record videos in 8K. Another upgrade is that the front camera will get a larger f/1.9 sensor with autofocus. This should also ensure better performance in low light.

Unfortunately, the entry-level models of the iPhone 14 do not receive an upgrade and are therefore equipped with a comparable camera to that of the iPhone 13.
