iPhone 14 and 14 Plus make it easier to repair with a removable back glass

The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus have an interesting feature, namely a removable rear window. In fact, this makes these models the first to be easily opened from the back from the iPhone 4S.

To replace the back glass of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13, Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers must open the device from the display side, remove the components, and install a case with all the components (except screen and rear camera). This component is attached to the customer’s original rear camera and screen, provided these parts are undamaged as well. For iPhone 11 and older models with a cracked back glass, Apple-certified technicians simply replace the entire device. The new method for iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus will be less expensive for Apple and more environmentally friendly.

What are the prices ? In France, Apple is asking €199 to change the rear glass of the iPhone 14. The price is €229 for the iPhone 14 Plus. The price is €29 for both if you have AppleCare+ insurance.

The first deliveries of iPhone 14, 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max will take place tomorrow. Apple launched pre-orders last week.
