iOS 16 beta 3: the list of new features
Apple today offered beta 3 of iOS 16 on iPhone and iPadOS 16 on iPad, this is an opportunity to discover the new features in the program. As a reminder, the beta is currently in the hands of the developers. A version for public testers will arrive this month.
What’s New in iOS 16 Beta 3
— iOS 16 adds a new Isolation mode. According to Apple, this mode provides an extreme and optional level of security for users who, because of what they do or who they are, can be personally targeted by highly sophisticated digital threats, such as those from NSO Group and other private companies developing state-sponsored spyware. More information can be found on this dedicated article.
— The iCloud shared photo library is now available to easily share photos and videos with family. More information on this dedicated article.
— AF (atrial fibrillation) history is now present in the Health application. Apple had only announced support for the United States, but the history option is listed in France (and probably elsewhere).
— The personalization of the lock screen is evolving once again with now 12 different fonts for the time being, including one that is intended to be very fine. Conversely, another very thick one is present.
— The calendar widget on the lock screen does not show the list of events while the iPhone is locked. Just using Face ID unlocks it and shows all the information.
— For the Reminders app, a new option (not yet translated) is designed to include overdue items and items due today in the badge count, rather than only items due today today.
— If you choose the lock screen with the Earth, it will automatically move if there are widgets so that the two are well separated.
— In Settings > General > About, you can now choose iOS Version and get details about the installed update.
— On iPad, there is a new home screen for the Stage Manager function. There are also new tutorials to help you use it, plus an updated multitasking menu with improved labeling.

— When choosing an iCloud+ subscription, a pop-up appears to explain each feature.
— Users have access to the clownfish wallpaper that was used by Steve Jobs during the presentation of the first iPhone in 2007. For some surprising reason, not everyone has it.
