iOS 15.7.6 is available for older iPhones and mouth 17 flaws
In addition to iOS 16.5, Apple is making iOS 15.7.6 available for download. This release is for iPhones and iPads that cannot install iOS 16.
Unsurprisingly, iOS 15.7.6 does not offer anything new, but it remains important because it comes to block 17 security vulnerabilities. For iOS 16.5, there are 39 corrected flaws.
There are two flaws that stand out with iOS 15.7.6 because they are already being exploited by hackers; they are also found in iOS 16.5. With the first flaw (CVE-2023-28204), the processing of web content may leak sensitive information. An out-of-bounds reading has been fixed with better input validation. With the second (CVE-2023-32373), processing malicious web content may lead to the execution of arbitrary code. Apple has corrected the situation with better memory management.
To update your device, go to Settings > General > Software Update. iOS 15.7.6 is available for iPhone 6s/6s Plus, iPhone 7/7 Plus, iPhone SE, iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 4.
On the Mac side, Apple offers macOS 11.7.7 for Big Sur users and macOS 12.6.6 for Monterey users. The first mouth 25 security vulnerabilitieswhere the second corrects 29. It is therefore strongly advised to install the updates.
