iOS 15.6 beta 2 is out

Just before WWDC, Apple released beta 2 of iOS 15.6. But what does this new version have to offer? iPhoned tells you more.

Read on after the ad.

iOS 15.6 beta 2 is now available

Two weeks ago the first beta of iOS 15.6 was released and now it’s time for beta 2. Let’s get straight to the point: there are no new functions known (yet) in this update.

It seems that Apple will release iOS 15.6 (and iPadOS 15.6) as a minor update for the iPhone and iPad. It’s probably again bug fixes and minor updates that are included in this version of iOS. Apple already has all the features they announced during WWDC 2021 in iOS 15.5.

Fixed Apple Music bug

Still, we know of at least one issue in iOS 15.6 that this beta 2 fixed. Apple Music was automatically placed in your dock in iOS 15.6 when you reinstalled the app. And the app replaced the program that was on the far right of your dock. Now the app leaves this place in your dock alone again.

Beta 2 probably last update iOS 15.6

Probably beta 2 is the last update of iOS 15.6. Apple is in fact very busy developing the major update: iOS 16. You can expect a first glimpse of iOS 16 on June 6 during WWDC.

iOS 16

We’ve already picked up some rumors and concepts about iOS 16. These concepts show deeper shadows, larger fonts, and more texture. Unfortunately, these are minor differences.

We think that the big changes of iOS 16 for the iPhone will mainly be in the widgets. There are also rumors that some other Apple services will be redesigned.

In addition, Apple’s Health app seems to be getting a makeover. A new drug management feature is coming, where you scan pills and get reminders to take them. In addition, it becomes easier in the Health app to read your data.

Which iPhones will get iOS 16?

Bad news for iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, and the first iPhone SE users. There are rumors that these smartphones will not support iOS 16. These run on an outdated A9 chip. If you have an iPhone 7 or newer, you can expect an update to iOS 16.
