iOS 14.5 beta 3 is available

Update 22:59 Apple has removed iOS 14.5 beta 3 from its servers. It was offered for a few minutes on the developer portal, then was withdrawn. Apple does not explain why.

[Article original] A few hours after the third beta of macOS 11.3, Apple is offering the third beta (build 18E5164h) of iOS 14.5 on iPhone and iPadOS 14.5 on iPad. It is available for developers.

Third beta available for iOS 14.5

The previous iOS 14.5 beta saw the light of day two weeks ago. It included some new features, including 217 new Emojis (including 200 existing Emoji combinations), new animations in the Music application and the ability to share music lyrics with Apple Music. There is also the microphone which is automatically deactivated on iPads when the Smart Folio is closed.

We do not yet know what is new with this third beta. We will know more soon. It should be noted in passing that Apple first released the new beta of macOS and then that of iOS. It is usually the reverse.

If your iPhone or iPad is configured to receive betas, go to Settings> General> Software Update. You will be able to download the third beta of iOS 14.5. The public beta will not be long (probably overnight or tomorrow).

The final version of iOS 14.5 will be available in early spring according to Apple. There is not yet a specific date. The same goes for macOS 11.3, watchOS 7.4, and tvOS 14.5.
