Instagram wants -finally- to bring back the timeline in chronological order
Important news from the Instagram house. The company is said to be planning to bring the chronological feed back to its apps. At the moment, an algorithm is used, in which the photo service itself chooses what you see first.
Instagram chronologically again?
When opening the Instagram app, the photo service itself has already decided what you will see. For this, the service uses an algorithm, in which it itself determines what the users find interesting. Do you like looking at photos of the New York skyline, or are you most curious about the photos of a certain account? There is a good chance that you will be the first to see it the next time you open it. When Instagram first became known, this worked very differently. As with a ‘normal’ timeline, you were shown the photos in chronological order with the newest photo at the top. That is not now.
According to the source Engadget Instagram plans to bring the chronological feed back to the apps. This information is based on information from Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri. He would like to see that ‘they will again be able to see a chronological feed’. The wish of a large group of users has been heard and work is said to be underway on this feature. This position should be made available at some point next year. It is unknown when exactly this will happen. It is suspected that the feature will become optional, giving users the choice of which feed order they want to see.
