The affordable fitness trackers from Xiaomi are very popular with you. OnePlus wants to deliver a similarly good price-performance ratio in the future. The manufacturer is said to be planning its own wearable at a low price – and the gadget should be available soon.
In a few days, OnePlus will bring its first wearable to the market, reports Android Central. The portal relies on internal sources and wants to have already experienced the first features. The fitness bracelet should be called OnePlus Band and be a direct competitor to the popular Xiaomi devices. We are talking about a waterproof wearable with an AMOLED screen and the battery should last for “several days”. You already know all three features from the Xiaomi Mi Band 5, which has a battery life of between 14 and 20 days depending on the settings.
Fitness tracker for less than 40 euros?
The price of the OnePlus Band should be around 40 US dollars, which would be the equivalent of around 32 euros. The Xiaomi Mi Band 5 is also located on this level. The fitness tracker should appear in the first quarter of 2021 and before the OnePlus 9. So you don’t have to wait too long. After all, the smartphone is expected for January or early February. However, it is currently unclear whether the gadget will also be available directly in Germany. Android Central only cites India as a specific example. Other markets would follow immediately.
Complement to OnePlus Nord?
In addition to an inexpensive fitness bracelet, OnePlus will soon also have a smartwatch in its portfolio. CEO Pete Lau has already confirmed a corresponding device for the beginning of 2021. The watch apparently bears the name OnePlus Watch. Allegedly, the gadget is in the premium segment, like the OnePlus 8 Pro with cell phones, which for us is one of the best smartphones in 2020.
The OnePlus Band, on the other hand, is intended to complement the mid-range OnePlus Nord mobile phone. The strategy sounds very promising. Ultimately, the price-performance ratio of the smartphone convinced the critics. If the tracker is also worth its low price, Xiaomi has a new well-known competitor.
