‘I value my child’s school report’: this is what you think
A small selection of the reactions.
- Olga: “No, if they’ve done their best that’s enough no matter what the numbers are! Hope they are comfortable in their own skin later on, whether that is as a newspaper deliverer or as a professor!”
- Nancy: “I value that my child is happy, has friends, does her best and is polite & tidy towards the teachers.”
- Judith: “She is very proud of her report card! And me on her! But I don’t care if the numbers are high or low. Above all, she should have fun and have a good time!”
- Rilana: “Yes and no. If I see them growing, it means they are developing well. But whether that is with all 6s or 8s doesn’t matter to me. As long as people enjoy going to school, I’m not worried.”

- Nanda: “No, I think it’s more important that she likes going to school, feels good about herself and has respect for her teacher, other teachers and children.”
- Mieke: “No, but you can see how it goes. My oldest daughter finds everything difficult and difficult but had a very good report card. Then I can really compliment her and say you can do it, don’t be so insecure. My youngest, on the other hand, is having a hard time and it showed.”
- Judith: “Certainly, a lot of value! Why? It is a report, there is no grade involved. It’s wonderful how the teachers manage to capture our child in words.”
- Hanneke: “I value that my child has fun, is committed and does her best. Numbers don’t say much.”
