“I accidentally clicked ‘like’ on the ex of the nice schoolyard father”
When that coveted, recently divorced, schoolyard father looks you in the eye a little too deeply, as a single mother, you naturally go to investigate. Well, social media isn’t there for nothing.
Li-Ann (35) is single mother of Melvin (8) and Chelsey (5):
“Is he flirting with me? I was momentarily taken aback when the coveted schoolyard dad who everyone knew was recently divorced looked me in the eye a little too deeply. I’m not averse to playing a little, but this man really didn’t leave me untouched.
We often chatted while waiting for our children in the schoolyard – not even classmates, for that matter. Never about important matters, just about small things. And now I was tossing and turning at night, unable to fall asleep.

Curious
On my phone I opened Facebook and after a bit of clicking I ended up with his ex-wife. I didn’t know her from the schoolyard, strange, and scrolled through her timeline. I must have clicked ‘like’ sleepily.
And she apparently knew who I was. Because the next day the schoolyard father asked, ‘Do you know the mother of my children?’ I could have fallen through the ground. Stalked that that wasn’t the case and I was curious – yes sorry, nature of the beast. He had to laugh, but I didn’t dare to go near him after that.”
