How to transfer your data with your Google account?
With an Android smartphone, your device is linked to a Google account. A feature that allows you to easily transfer all your information from your old smartphone to the new one: applications, contacts, settings… And that, with ease:
Make sure you’re signed in to your Google account on your old device and connected to WiFi.
- Turn on your new device; link it to your Google account and press To start up.
- Choose from Copy apps and data from your old device.
- Select a transfer option:
- – If you have a cable, connect it to both of your devices and follow the on-screen instructions.
- – If you don’t have a cable, press Don’t have a cable? >OKthen select A backup made from an Android phone.
That’s it, your Google account will synchronize with your old device and transfer all the information to your new smartphone! Note that it is also possible to do this transfer manually.
How to transfer your data with Google Drive?
Another method exists, it is the Google Drive backup. It is indeed possible to activate, from the settings of your Android device, the automatic synchronization of all the data present on your smartphone (applications, photos, call and message history, contacts, etc.).
To back up the latest version of your old smartphone:
- Make sure you’re signed in to your Google account.
- From Settingsgo to SystemThen Backup and synchronization.
- Activate the option Backup to Google One.
- Make sure that all your data is well synchronized: photos, contacts, personal files…
Once this is done, go to your new smartphone:
Link your Google account to the device.
Follow the instructions to restore your backup from Google Drive.
Make sure to enable the Backup to Google Drive option from Settings on your new smartphone.
Finally, be aware that there are dedicated solutions for certain brands such as the Samsung Smart Switch or the OnePlus Migration.
