How to create avatars on WhatsApp
In recent years, more and more platforms have introduced avatars. Now WhatsApp is also jumping on the bandwagon. We’ll show you how to create avatars on WhatsApp.
Meta has had them for a long time and even in 3D. And they are now also available on the Zoom video conferencing platform. We are talking about avatars, the users themselves now also on WhatsApp can create.
WhatsApp introduces avatars
With the avatars, WhatsApp wants to offer its users “a new form of expression”. In the future, it should be possible to communicate “even more individually” on the platform.
The Meta subsidiary describes the avatars as “digital versions” of their users. These can appear in various combinations of hairstyles, facial features and outfits.
Users can use their avatars as a profile photo. But also send them in the form of stickers in their chats. There are 36 different, more personalized stickers available for this.
Sending an avatar is a quick and fun way to share feelings with friends and family.
The new digital images are also a good way to “represent yourself without using a real photo”.
For users who use WhatsApp on an iPhone, however, the avatars should not bring much innovation. Because on the Apple devices, the digital images have also been available in the messenger for a long time.
This is how you can create your avatar
In order to be able to use the avatars on WhatsApp, the app must first be updated. If the latest update is installed, you can find the avatars in the settings.
Here you will find the new “Avatar” button, which opens the avatar menu. You can then use the “Create your avatar” button to create your digital image.
Options for various properties are now available here. These include skin tone, hairstyle, hair color, outfit, eye shape, color and makeup.
Once complete, you can then save your avatar and either set it as your profile picture or use it as a sticker in your chats.
