Holes in the iPhone 14 Pro screen merge into a pill-shaped cutout
We’ve already read a lot about the two controversial holes in the screen of the iPhone 14 Pro (Max). According to a new rumor, these merge into one bar when the screen is on.
Read on after the ad.
“Yet one long cutout in the iPhone 14 Pro screen”
With the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, Apple says goodbye to the notch. Instead, the screen will have two holes to accommodate the selfie camera and sensors for Face ID. There is a lot of noise about this new design because it looks a bit strange and especially asymmetrical.
According to a new rumor from MacRumors Apple would have come up with something for that. When the screen of the iPhone 14 Pro (Max) is on, the holes would merge into one pill-shaped bar. The pixels between the holes are therefore switched off by software.
You may wonder why Apple didn’t just opt for a larger physical crop. According to the source of MacRumors, the company wants to play some visual tricks with the holes. They could be wider to show certain icons and even longer to show notifications. However, we question that, because the notifications in iOS 16 move to the bottom of the screen. So take this rumor with a grain of sea salt.
