Hogwarts Legacy: All Potions Ingredient Locations

In Hogwarts Legacy you can find 16 different ingredients that you mainly need to make potions. So that you don’t have to search for a long time, we’ll show you the localities of all ingredients, plants and monster items in the game.

Locations of all 16 ingredients

In the game menu under the item “Collections” 16 materials are listed in the category “Ingredients”. This includes plants, items from magical creatures and monsters, and other growths.

You can easily buy many of the ingredients from vendors in Hogsmeade. But since this can get a bit expensive in the long run, you should rather buy the seeds for plants and grow them yourself or keep your eyes open in the game world, because you can find pretty much all resources in hidden corners.

Below we list you Information on all 16 ingredients and give you example locations for the resources.

leech juice

• Needed for: Maxima Potion, Thunder Brew
• Locations:
  • You can buy 5 from J. Pippin’s Potions Shop in west Hogsmeade for 150 gold each.
  • Run along the shore of the lake around Hogwarts to find lots of leech juice.
    

diptam leaves

• Needed for: Mega Power Potion
• Locations:
  • You can buy 2 pieces for 100 gold each from the shop “The Magic Turnip” in western Hogsmeade.
  • You can grow diptam on a planting table with a small pot. The cultivation time is 10 minutes. If you don’t already have your own planting table in the Room of Requirement, you can find one in the greenhouse south-east of Hogwarts.

Eggs of an Ashwinder

• Needed for: Edurus Potion
• Locations:
  • You can buy 5 from J. Pippin’s Potions Shop in west Hogsmeade for 150 gold each.
  • You can find the eggs, for example, in the Feldcroft region in the far east of the map.
    

lacewings

• Needed for: Focus Potion, Felix Felicis
• Locations:
  • You can buy 5 from J. Pippin’s Potions Shop in west Hogsmeade for 100 gold each.
  • You can find some lacewings at the northernmost point of the swamp at the north ford right by the fast travel point.
    

river grass

• Needed for: Focus Potion, Felix Felicis
• Locations:
  • You can buy 2 pieces for 150 gold each from the shop “The Magic Turnip” in western Hogsmeade.
  • You can buy the riverweed seed for 350 gold from The Magic Turnip and plant it on a large pot planting table. The cultivation time is 15 minutes. You can buy a planting table with a large pot for 1,000 gold from Tomes and Scrolls in south Hogsmeade.

Domes of Jumping Toadstools

• Needed for: invisibility potion
• Locations:
  • You can buy 5 from J. Pippin’s Potions Shop in west Hogsmeade for 150 gold each.
  • You can find these mushrooms almost anywhere. For example, just north of Hogwarts.
    

breath of the dead

• Needed for: thunder brew
• Locations:
  • You can buy 5 from J. Pippin’s Potions Shop in west Hogsmeade for 100 gold each.
  • This item can be found as loot from Inferi (undead). An Inferi hideout can be found south of Hogwarts along the river near Keenbridge.
    

Horlump Juice

• Needed for: Mega Power Potion
• Locations:
  • You can buy 5 from J. Pippin’s Potions Shop in west Hogsmeade for 50 gold each.
  • Horlump sap grows in dark corners. On the picture below we have marked the entrance to the Horklump Hollow cave north of Hogsmeade, where you can find a lot of Horklump juice.
    

knotweed branch

• Needed for: invisibility potion
• Locations:
  • You can buy 2 pieces for 150 gold each from the shop “The Magic Turnip” in western Hogsmeade.
  • You can buy the Knotweed Sprig seed for 350 gold from The Magic Turnip and plant it on a small pot planting table. The cultivation time is 10 minutes. If you don’t already have your own planting table in the Room of Requirement, you can find one in the greenhouse south-east of Hogwarts.

mallow

• Needed for: Trials of Merlin
• Locations:
  • You can buy 2 pieces for 100 gold each from the shop “The Magic Turnip” in western Hogsmeade.
  • You can buy the mallow seed for 200 gold from The Magic Turnip and plant it on a small pot planting table. The cultivation time is 10 minutes. If you don’t already have your own planting table in the Room of Requirement, you can find one in the greenhouse south-east of Hogwarts.

moonstone

• Needed for: Summoning objects in the Room of Requirement
• Locations: Moonstone can be found in many places across the map. In the picture below we have marked an example location for you.
  

shriveled fig

• Needed for: thunder brew
• Locations:
  • You can buy 2 pieces for 150 gold each from the shop “The Magic Turnip” in western Hogsmeade.
  • You can buy the shriveled fig seed from The Magic Turnip for 450 gold and plant it on a medium pot planting table. The cultivation time is 12 minutes. You can purchase a medium pot planting table for 750 gold from Tomes and Scrolls in south Hogsmeade.

spider fang

• Needed for: Maxima Potion
• Locations:
  • You can buy 5 from J. Pippin’s Potions Shop in west Hogsmeade for 50 gold each.
  • The best place to get spider fangs is from spider lairs. You can find their hiding places mainly in the forbidden forest north of Hogwarts.
    

street mutt fur

• Needed for: Edurus Potion
• Locations:
  • You can buy 5 from J. Pippin’s Potions Shop in west Hogsmeade for 50 gold each.
  • Street mutts appear as enemies in many places in the game. We have marked an example location of such a wolf in the forbidden forest in the picture below.
    

Swamp Rattle Tongue

• Needed for: focus potion
• Locations:
  • You can buy 5 from J. Pippin’s Potions Shop in west Hogsmeade for 100 gold each.
  • You can find large numbers of bog krattlers at a bog krattler burrow. There is such a building in the north-west of Hogwarts Valley.
    

booger

• Needed for: invisibility potion
• Locations:
  • You can buy 5 from J. Pippin’s Potions Shop in west Hogsmeade for 100 gold each.
  • You get boogers as loot from trolls. In the Feldcroft region in the far west of the map you will find two troll hideouts close together.
