The MacBook Pro 2021 with M1 Max has a ‘High Power Mode’. This allows you to get just that little bit more performance out of your laptop for heavy tasks. For example, consider editing video material. Apple specifically gives an example of performing color corrections on 8K videos and 3D programs where the High Power Mode can offer a solution.
When you enable the feature, the MacBook Pro M1 Max will spin the built-in fans faster. The extra cooling ensures that the M1 Max chip can go a little faster again, giving you a performance boost.
