Has your QR code disappeared from the CoronaCheck app? This is what’s going on

The corona measures were relaxed on 25 February. There are still a few corona measures in place. These relaxations also entail changes for the corona admission ticket (CTB). This changes for the CTB.

Where is my QR code?

From 25 February, a corona ticket will only be requested in the Netherlands for indoor activities with more than 500 visitors, without a fixed seat. You only get access to these places with a negative test certificate (1G access). This makes the need for a QR code for a vaccination or recovery certificate superfluous.

Do I still need the CoronaCheck app?

Yes, of course! You still need the CoronaCheck app in places where the 1G policy is applied, so at major events. You also need this QR code if you go abroad. 3G access is now disabled in the Netherlands, but not in many other countries. So you can still have the International tab in the app create your QR code.

• 1G Policy: Anyone who goes to a major event must show a negative test result, so both vaccinated and unvaccinated. This applies to indoor areas where more than 500 people per event come who do not have a fixed seat. For example at a large nightclub, or a music venue.
• 2G Policy: Everyone who has been vaccinated or recovered from corona will have access to the catering industry and events.
• 3G Policy: Anyone who has been vaccinated, has recovered from or has tested negative for corona will have access to the catering industry and events.

New in the CoronaCheck app

The home screen of the CoronaCheck app has changed. You will now see information about 1G access at the top. Below this are three recommendations for using the app, and a message that the proof for 3G access is no longer used in the app. At the very bottom you can add a new vaccination or test to the app.

Test for Access

If you have to go to an activity or event for which you need a valid test certificate, you can make an appointment here. In the event of a negative test result, you can then enter the pick-up code for your QR code in the CoronaCheck app. The app then turns this into a QR code. This is your corona admission ticket.

Always bring your ID to the event. Your corona ticket is only valid together with a passport, identity card or driver’s license. And don’t forget your entrance ticket.
