Since March 15, 2022, PS5 players have been able to download GTA Online for free via the PlayStation Store and, in combination with a PS Plus subscription, make the online world of Los Santos unsafe. Anyone who hasn’t made use of the free offer since then should do so as soon as possible, because the countdown is about to expire.

PS Plus is required for both download and play. Here you can choose from different subscription types. However, you save the most money with an annual subscription.

GTA 5: New-Gen cheaper on PlayStation than on Xbox
GTA 5 was first released in 2013 and although the game is showing its age, it is still one of the most successful and popular video games on the market today. The new console versions will be available soon and they bring some improvements.
Preloads are already possible, but until you can play the new console versions of GTA 5, you still have to until March 15, 2022. You can actually save big if you decide to buy early, but Xbox players will have to dig deeper into their pockets.
The prices at a glance:
- (PS5) Grand Theft Auto 5 + GTA Online: 9.99 euros
- (PS5) GTA Online: For free (for the first three months after the game’s release in March 2022)

GTA 5: What are the benefits of the New Gen versions?
The new versions of the game bring many improvements and new features. For example, different graphics modes are available for the first time, including a 4K resolution with up to 60 frames per second. The textures and lighting have been improved, and HDR options and ray tracing should ensure even greater gaming enjoyment.
PS5 players can join Look forward to more immersive gameplay thanks to the haptic feedback of the DualSense controller. The weather in the game should offer different resistances and Tempest 3D Audio should provide the better sound.
According to Rockstar, five new vehicles as well as fresh races come into play in the online mode.
