Google will put a warning on its unreliable search results
The search giant will adopt a new feature to avoid misleading its users as much as possible. To do this, it will put warnings in case of doubt about the reliability of certain search results.
Warnings will focus on hot news and new topics
It was Renee DiResta, a researcher from the Stanford Internet Observatory who initially reported the news via a tweet. Google also released a blog post in which he explained that users will be notified when search results change rapidly around a landmark story.
First time I’ve seen this response from Google Search. Positive step to communicating that something is newsy / breaking (my search was for a breaking culture war story), and highlighting that facts are not all known or consensus on what happened is still being formed. pic.twitter.com/kdv4OAHRlw

Therefore, some search results may display a warning that says ” it seems that these results are changing rapidly “.
This warning will be followed by another indication that ” if this topic is new, adding results from reliable sources can sometimes take time “.
Google warns against the reliability of certain information
For now, the warning will appear on search results from the United States. However, Google says the feature will expand to other countries in the coming months, reports The Verge.
The company also stated that:
While Google search will always be there with the most useful results we can provide, sometimes the reliable information you are looking for is just not yet available. ThisThe can be especially true for breaking news or emerging topics. When information published first may not be the most reliable.
