Google TV postpones user profiles for a while
Google TV was supposed to come with user profiles, but they’ll probably come a few months later. The feature was announced in October and the response was very positive, but apparently this much-requested feature still needs some further development.
Profiles on Google TV
Google TV has been out since 2020 and many had actually expected this feature at launch, but was not to be. On the other hand, Amazon Prime Video, for example, has also come out with profiles so late, so it’s apparently not on the developer role by default.
On the other hand, it would already come in this period, but that is not going to happen. Back in October, Google promised the feature would come to Google TV in the coming weeks, but it still hasn’t happened yet. 9to5Google has now dug up the answer: they won’t be there for a while.
Personal recommendations
Google has indicated when we can expect them approximately, namely somewhere in the coming months. So that is probably only in 2022, but it could be January, February and probably even March is still an option. So let’s take a look at one profile with the whole family, instead of everyone having their own viewing profile (and so there is no confusion and hassle about who went where with a certain series plus personal advice about what you should definitely watch ).
Ambient Mode will arrive on time. These are a kind of cards that allow you to see at a glance what the sports results are, or the weather and the news. These can be seen when Google TV is not actively used. At the moment they are first rolled out in the United States, so when exactly they will come to the Netherlands is still unknown.
