Google releases Health Connect app to synchronize sports data
Google has released a new application for Android. With Google Health Connect you can synchronize sports data with your fitness data between different services. For example, between Google Fit and Samsung Health.
Google HealthConnect
A new application has been released by Google in the Google Play Store. An app that can come in handy for fitness and sports enthusiasts. The purpose of the app is to sync the data that one app collects and records with another service that you use. This can be very useful. Just think of your pedometer on your Samsung smartwatch or Fitbit. The data can then not be collected with the rest in Google Fit.
This should be possible with the Google Health Connect. Data can be exchanged between the various services that provide support. Of course you can choose which services you want to use and which synchronize with each other. At the moment it is a beta version that is available to everyone. Unfortunately for many cyclists and runners, there is no support (yet?) for Strava, a widely used app in the sports world.
Google says that the following services work with Health Connect;
- fitbit
- Samsung Health
- Google Fit
- MyFitnessPal
- Oura
- WW/Weight Watchers
- Menstrual calendar Flo
- Lifesum
- Outdooractive
- Proov Insight
The number of services is expected to be expanded in the future. When an app is linked, you decide for yourself which data can be exchanged.
