Google Pixel owners are reporting issues with Android 12
Users of Google Pixel devices have finally received an update to Android 12, but for many of them, the new version of the system has prevented them from using the device. The Phone Arena portal informed about the problem.
Problems with Android 12 have affected almost all Google Pixels
Problems with the latest version of the system have been reported by users of almost all models, with a slightly different effect on each. After the upgrade, the Pixel 4a 5G user encountered significantly worse battery life and application instability, while one Pixel 5 owner crashes the entire system. Other users have experienced problems unlocking the device, reporting corrupted data, or repeatedly stopping Pixel Launcher.
In an effort to reconnect their devices, users tried resetting the factory settings, clearing the application cache, or restarting the smartphone in Safe mode. However, none of this has eliminated the above problems. Google claims that the issue may be due to incompatibilities with third-party applications. However, it does not yet have an update solution.
Does the same fate await the Pixel 6 series?
The news also worried future owners of new models from the Pixel 6 series, which will be released at the end of October. Especially since previous releases of new flagships from Google have seldom been seamless. It started with the Pixel 2 XL model, which had a problem with the display from the factory. The next Pixel 3 series was plagued by rapid battery discharge, system instability, and camera problems that resulted in poor image quality.
Problems with the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL models occurred during video recording. Cracking, clicking and knocking could be heard in the resulting video. Last year’s Pixel 5 had a hardware problem for the change, between the display and an aluminum frame a gap appeared on some pieces.
Users are concerned about issues with Google Tensor chipsets
Concerns revolve around the new Google Tensor chipsets this year, as they are the first generation of processors made by Google. Software problems can be easily fixed with an update, but they can’t handle faulty hardware. A faulty processor will also do much more damage (in the worst case, the device may become completely inoperable) than, for example, the aforementioned problem with the gap between the display and the frame.
