Google Maps is preparing a customized user interface for route planning

Google Maps is one of the most popular navigation solutions today. She gained this status through a whole host of tweaks and sophisticated functionality. The creators of the application are constantly working on further improvements. Last week we let you know about the new StreetView mode. Now it looks like Google Maps is making other UI changes.

The customized user interface applies to the Google Maps navigation screen. Compared to the previous (current) variant, it will be cleaner and clearer. The original box block for entering the start and end destinations replaces the floating rectangular element with rounded corners and the tabbed vehicle selection moves to the bottom of the display. There is also a button to set route specifications – for example, to avoid toll sections.

A new layout of features in Google Maps has been noted already several users of the device with Android. It is in the early testing phase and it is not yet clear when or whether it will start to spread globally.
