Google Lens gets a spot in the Pixel Launcher’s search bar

The Pixel Launcher’s search bar gets an extension in the form of Google Lens. The integration is currently available on a number of Pixel phones and lets you easily access Google Lens from the search bar.

Adding a Lens shortcut to the search bar in the Pixel Launcher has been on the agenda for a while, and now the integration is visible. It looks like the feature is rolling out now as the stable version of Android 12 is announced shortly.

The Pixel Launcher’s search bar is one of the most important parts of the home screen and can also be found at the top of the app drawer. Google knows this is an important part of its Pixel phones, so it puts a Lens shortcut in the widget’s limited but valuable space. Probably to get more Pixel owners to start using Lens. The new Lens shortcut can be found next to the microphone on the right side of the widget.

Previously, Google also ensured that Lens is integrated into its other services. Now take the camera app from phones or in Google Photos. Lens also recently got a spot in the desktop version of Google Photos. In addition, Google regularly comes up with improvements for Lens, because last year the app received a crash course in mathematics.
