Google Drive now works much better on foldable phones
If you have a foldable smartphone that folds like a book, you’re in luck: Google Drive is getting a new view on those devices. Google is optimizing its apps for larger screens more often and now Google Drive is getting that treatment.
Google Drive on the foldable
Handy when the Pixel Fold is out soon: you can now expect a better display of Google Drive on phones that open like a book. A difference is made between how you hold the phone: is it closed, is it open or is it partially open? Google Drive shows different navigation options depending on how you hold your phone. You can see the different options below:
For example, if you have a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, you can more easily navigate through the documents within Google Drive. In addition, there is another adjustment: Google Docs is now displayed with pages and page breaks by default, so that the design in the web version and the mobile version is more similar. If you don’t want that, you can set a document to pageless mode yourself. Incidentally, with Google Docs, the navigation does not change depending on how you use your foldable: it is always at the top.
