German YouTuber denounces huge problem

Jasmin Sibel aka Gnu is one of the most successful gaming YouTubers that Germany has to offer. But fame also has its downsides. Again and again, she and her colleagues are unintentionally sexualized by some viewers. A problem that she strongly denounces in a recent video.

Unwanted Sexualization: Gnu indicates problem

The influencer Jasmin Sibel operates four different YouTube channels with a total of over two million subscribers – better known by the name gnu – and has been one of the largest German gaming YouTubers for several years.

But Gnu not only uploads gameplay videos, reaction clips and other video formats can also be found on their channels – primarily on their third channel JasminGnu.

And that’s exactly where she draws attention to a major problem with her current video: the unwanted sexualization of public figures. Gnu is also affected. She explains in the video that some users of the Reddit platform crop screenshots from their streams, pictures from Instagram or photos on autograph cards, post them and add lewd captions. Pictures of her are also used to put them into porn recordings via photo or deepfake video montage.

In the comment area under these posts you can often find them highly sexualized commentswho strongly degrade the influencer and downright degrade it to a sex object.

Jasmin Seibel is not the only one affected by such problems – herself The perpetrators do not stop at minors. This is shown by the research of her colleagues who helped her with the production of the video: AlphaKevin, The Dark Knight of the Parable, Alicia Joe, Just Nero and Christian Solmecke.

Video makes it clear to perpetrators that they are not anonymous

Together with the help of Hacktivist Ornella Al-Lami (aka Nella) YouTube colleague AlphaKevin wanted to find out who is behind such sexual posts for Gnu’s video. And indeed, with a little research, he could find out the exact identity of the culprits.

The full names of the people involved were not revealed in the videobut it was clear from the documents and screenshots shown that Nella and AlphaKevin were able to positively identify the users.

At the end of the video, Gnu asks all viewers to to report such posts directly to the relevant platform and encourages all concerned persons to to report such cases. As you can see, the perpetrators are not anonymous on the internet either and can be prosecuted once their identity is discovered.
