German e-car drivers have reason to be happy
Tesla continues to focus on speed when expanding its own fast charging network. A decent plus is planned for the German locations this year. This not only benefits Tesla drivers, drivers of other e-cars should also be able to benefit.
Tesla’s fast charging network with the so-called superchargers is considered a benchmark among e-mobilists. Tesla drivers are particularly satisfied when it comes to the experience at fast charging stations. So it is just right that the American electric car manufacturer in this country Grid expansion pushed ahead.
60 percent plus: Tesla wants to strengthen the supercharger network
This year alone Tesla is planning 68 additional locations in Germany. That’s according to the company’s own map, which Tesla customers can use to find out about fast-charging stations or find a nearby one (see at Tesla). Tesla also indicates planned locations for new superchargers there.
In addition to the previous 112 charging stations in Germany, this is an increase of around 60 percent – that’s something to be proud of. However, there are still some ambiguities: This is what Tesla calls it, for example no fixed times but usually the planned quarter of the opening. In some cases, however, only the year 2022 is mentioned.
In addition, precise information is not necessarily given about the locations that have not yet been built. Tesla Rather, plan the superchargers where there is a need. That doesn’t mean, however, that you get a permit right there (source: Teslamag). Accordingly, when planning, often only the locality in the vicinity is mentioned, but not the exact location.
E-car drivers benefit from Tesla plans – even without Tesla
How the new superchargers will look from a technical point of view remains exciting. Tesla wants to give existing superchargers version V3 a performance upgrade this year, and there should also be permanent WLAN supply at the first charging stations in the USA – via Starlink, one of many companies owned by Tesla boss Elon Musk:
For e-car drivers in Germany, whether they have a Tesla or not, the Supercharger expansion a good sign. Because Tesla is gradually releasing more and more charging stations for electric cars from other brands. So far, the procedure has been tested at over 40 locations in the Netherlands, France and Norway.
