The founder and boss of Xiaomi is no longer at the helm of the Chinese manufacturer. However, Lei Jun does not want to leave the company – instead he wants to set the tone in another area in the future.

the Multi-billionaire, founder and CEO of Xiaomi is no longer at the head of the Chinese company with immediate effect. It has not yet been announced who will succeed Lei Jun. Previously, there had been reports that Jun would completely withdraw from Xiaomi. In the meantime, however, he himself has rejected this on the social network Weibo (source: gizmochina). At the helm of Xiaomi Auto, he will be in charge together with new hire Yu Liguo. Over the course of this decade, Xiaomi reportedly wants to invest 8.4 billion euros in research and development of electric cars. The own factory in Beijing should have a capacity of 300,000 cars per year. Xiaomi plans to start mass production of the “Mi Car” in the first half of 2024.
Xiaomi wants his Manufacture electric cars mainly in-house. Contract manufacturers should not come into play and larger cooperations with other car manufacturers are not planned at the moment.
