OnePlus with foldable
The first foldable smartphone from OnePlus is on its way. Rumors about this have been going around for years and now the brand has officially released the message that a foldable smartphone is definitely coming. The phone is planned to be announced in the second quarter of 2023.
Although it is the first foldable smartphone from OnePlus, the company already has the necessary experience with foldables. Oppo belongs to the same parent company and has already launched several foldable devices with the Find N series. DroidApp recently published the Oppo Find N2 Flip preview, where we take a look at the phone from all sides.
It seems likely that the foldable phone from OnePlus will ship with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The manufacturer says the following about the smartphone;
“Our first foldable phone will have the signature OnePlus fast and smooth experience. It must be a flagship phone that doesn’t settle because of its folding form, in terms of industrial design, mechanical technology, and other aspects. We want to launch a device that aims to be at the pinnacle experience of today’s foldable market.”
It is not yet known what form the phone will take. It is therefore not clear whether the phone will be shaped like the Galaxy Z Flip 4, which is a clamshell, or whether a book shape will be chosen, such as the Galaxy Z Fold 4. More will be announced about the smartphone in the coming months , OnePlus says.
