Far Cry 6 will lose its hilarious map editor -apkrig
It is quite clear to me that the user-friendly map editor in the Far Cry series was not necessarily a key feature for every player, but I personally enjoyed playing it very much. Therefore, I was very unpleasantly surprised that this sequel function will be lost. From the second part, it was a relatively traditional part, which also worked on consoles and was perhaps only missing in Far Cry Primal from 2016 and Far Cry New Dawn from 2019. After all, remember its last incarnation.
Alexandre Letendre at the AMA on Reddit answered a question from one of the fans that the map editor would not return. According to him, removing this tool from the study plans was a difficult decision, but it allowed the authors to focus on the campaign and other aspects of the game. The creative fans weren’t very happy with the answer, but the truth is that the editor never enjoyed mass popularity, as he might have deserved, other players point out. So it’s probably a logical step.
The last time the map editor appeared in Far Cry 5 was part of the Far Cry Arcade. Fans could make their own missions and maps for one or more players. They had over 9,000 assets at their disposal from older parts of the series and other games from Ubisoft. If you’ve never used this tool yourself, you probably won’t cry for it, but deliberately look at some of the successful creations of other fans that were created in this environment.
It is also worth noting the creations of the user with the nickname SanktPerkele, which you can find on his YouTube channel. Choosing just one is very difficult, so I prosaically chose Half-Life: Alyx. It may not be the best, but most people will definitely know it and appreciate what the šikály are capable of with the editor.
