Fanatec unveils official steering wheel for Gran Turismo -apkrig
If you like to play racing simulators, and you have tried the steering wheel with a direct connection to the base engine at least once, you will probably already have experience with ordinary the steering wheel will never fully satisfy. The power, but also the small details that the so-called direct drive technology provides, are invaluable and take the experience a bit further. Gran Turisma’s Polyphony Digital developers, who have partnered with Fanatec, a leading steering wheel manufacturer, are also fully aware of this. The result is the first direct drive steering wheel for the PlayStation 5 in the special edition of Gran Turismo, which will go on sale next spring and will expand the options planned miniver the CSL DD base, which players expect as an affordable model with proven Fanatec technology.
The Gran Turismo DD Pro, as the new steering wheel is called, will, of course, be compatible with the PS4 and PS5 consoles in addition to the PC and Xbox (only the base and pedals are compatible here), making it the first of its kind on the platform. Compared to the basic version of CSL DD, which should start selling at the beginning of January next year, it will complement the three-leaf platform and suddenly become a reason to think about what to invest in. However, it must be added that even for the basic version of Gran Turismo DD Pro, players will have to pay extra compared to CSL DD, because the price starts at 700 euros. In addition, this version of the GT DD only comes with 5 Nm of torque, so if you want to get to the highest value of 8 Nm, you still have to count on buying a Boost Kit for 150 euros. It is without any discount – ie for 850 euros – part of another package, which can also reach you significantly faster in a quantity-limited express edition with an expected delivery date of 17 December. The last bundle, marked as premium, then offers the described steering wheel, base, Boost Kit, but a higher range of pedals, including the clutch, which is missing in the cheaper GT DD packages.
As for the steering wheel itself, it was created in direct collaboration with the authors of Gran Turisma. Beyond the racing series logo, of course, it brings buttons that match the layout and markings on the PlayStation, has a small OLED information display, a RevLED bar with engine speed information, shoulder buttons, a menu control, shift paddles and four directional levers. It connects to the base with the standard Fanatec QR1 Wheel-Side system, thus maintaining full versatility and use with any other peripherals from the gear lever or brake levers or other pedals. Of course, this also applies to the upgrade of available pedals in cheaper steering wheel packages, which can be supplemented with a third missing pedal sold separately. In this regard, Fanatec strives to maintain maximum modularity and use across platforms and games at will.
Of course, it is necessary to have a stable base, at best, the entire racing kit to which you attach the steering wheel, because the power of DD steering wheels is disproportionately greater than with conventional servomotors. However, taking into account that the buyer would make an investment of several thousand purchases, it is likely that he is familiar with these requirements and knows what to expect.
