Facebook has new Overview tab: timeline in chronological order
Today’s social media apps all have to show everything in their own chosen order, rather than in chronological order. Instagram first came with an option to show posts in chronological order, now Facebook is following. We explain how to use the ‘Overviews’ tab.
Facebook: chronological order
The Facebook app now shows a new feed, with a new option added in the navigation bar; Overviews. The purpose of this timeline is that you can find the messages here in chronological order. Not just from your friends, but also from groups, Pages (like the DroidApp Facebook page) and more. You can also manage your favorites, so that you can immediately find the timeline in order of placement.
According to Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta and thus of Facebook, the company wants users to have more control over the posts they see in the timeline. The home screen remains the home page where the content you see consists of a composition of messages, based on Facebook’s algorithm. Here you will also find the stories of your friends and of course you can share your own story.
The new ‘Overviews’ tab will now be rolled out to all users. This should be completed in the coming weeks; so it might take a while for everyone to see this one. Instagram previously brought an option to view Instagram posts in chronological order.
