Export WhatsApp to Telegram: this is how it works
Before we start, it is important that you have the latest version of the Telegram app on your phone, otherwise the step-by-step plan below will not work. You must be running at least version 7.4. Check? Then follow these steps to export WhatsApp chats to Telegram:
- Open WhatsApp and go to the conversation you want to transfer;
- Tap on the person’s name, scroll down and choose ‘Export chat’;
- Indicate whether you want to export with or without media (photos and videos);
- Now a submenu will appear where you can press Telegram;
- Then choose the Telegram contact whose conversation history you want to import and confirm your choice.
After the import is completed, you should see your entire conversation history with that person appear, with or without media files. Certain messages may be missing, for example when you have sent / received a sticker that is only available on WhatsApp.
Unfortunately, it is not yet possible to export all your WhatsApp conversations at once. So you have to transfer calls individually to Telegram. It is also useful to know that the app transfers your WhatsApp conversation in one block. The chats will not be placed between your conversation that has already been sent via Telegram.
