Emmanuel Macron promises “a new era” for French esports
During a reception at the Élysée with many French gamers, Emmanuel Macron promised ” a new era “ for French esports in order to make France a “great nation” of the sector.

“If you are here, it is because we wanted to have this gesture of recognition and be able to celebrate French esports, your disciplines and your champions”said Emmanuel Macron. “Today begins a new era, not simply to recognize you but to help you structure yourself, move forward and progress”he continued.
The President of the Republic has also pledged that the country is a candidate for the organization of major international video game competitions with a view to the Paris Olympic Games in 2024, citing major tournaments in counter strike, League of Legends Where Dota 2. “The 2024 Olympics can be an opportunity to set very important objectives and to use this event to mobilize French and international esports. We will work together”he promised. “The objective is that between now and 2024 we can have major international events”. He claimed that we can “create a lot of value for the country if we collectively know how to organize it, carry it and be a very great esports nation”.

Emmanuel Macron received the main players in French esports on the eve of the Trackmania Cup, a major competition on racing video games, organized at the AccorArena in Paris. Among those honored during the reception was Adrien Nougaret, aka ZeratoR, one of the most popular streamers. He organizes the Trackmania Cup and is also behind the charity event “Z Event” which raised 10 million euros last year for Action Against Hunger.
Amine Mekri (aka Prime) and Kamel Kebir (aka Kameto), the founders of the Karmine Corp, a popular esports team that has won multiple titles on League of Legendswere also present, as was Laure Valée, emblematic presenter and journalist in the sector, or Sébastien Debs (alias Ceb), the French gamer who has had the most success in esports, a gaming specialist Dota 2.
