Elon Musk continues to provide Ukraine with internet
Despite Russian meddling, Ukraine continues to maintain internet access, courtesy of Elon Musk.
An important branch of communication in modern warfare is the Internet. An attacker will always benefit from blocking the other party’s access to the internet. But with the Starlink technology from Elon Musk, that is not so easy and that is why Ukraine remains connected to the internet.
Elon Musk’s Starlink uses satellites in space to organize the internet connection. And Russia can’t just do that. Some of Starlink’s 2,000 satellites are aimed at the Eastern European country, so that Ukraine has good and reliable access to the internet. In addition to warfare on land and in the air with soldiers, Russia is also waging cyber war with Ukraine.
There is a lot of thanks and cheers on social media for Musk’s action. Among others, the deputy prime minister of the country, as well as the minister of digital transport, Mykhailo Fedorov, expressed his thanks. It was indeed Fedorov himself who posted a Twitter appeal to Elon Musk to target his Starlink satellites at Ukraine. Musk also announced that he would activate even more terminals for the Eastern European country for an even more stable internet connection.
