Elden Ring: Solve Tanith’s Quest

Tanith is the mistress of House Vulkan in Elden Ring and gives you various bounty orders in the course of the game in which you have to defeat Istvan, Rileigh and Juno Hoslow. In our walkthrough with video we take you through all the steps of Tanith’s Quest and show you the rewards.

Join House Vulkan & start Tanith’s quest

Tanith is the first NPC to greet you in House Vulcan in Gelmir. Alone the journey here is quite difficult as there are many elevation changes in Gelmir. The easiest way to get to House Vulcan is to follow Rya’s quest, because she can teleport you directly to House Vulcan. Alternatively, follow the marked path on the map below.

Sitting on a chair in the fireplace room, Tanith is always guarded by her bodyguard, a Crucible Knight. In this area you cannot use weapons and therefore cannot attack these NPCs.

Speak with Tanith and agree to join House Vulcan. You will then receive it from her Key to the drawing room and can open the other rooms to her right in the corridor.

A notice: You should not kill the final boss of House Vulkan, Lord Rykard, before you have solved the quests of all NPCs in this area. This way you make sure you don’t miss anything, because after Rykard’s death all NPCs leave House Vulcan.

Istvan the Old Knight (1st Mission)

You can do this in the corridor on the left thanks to the key open the drawing room. Here you will meet Rya, Bernahl and Diallos again. For the quest, however, you must take the letter from House Vulcan on the table in the middle. This sends you to the Hunt for the Tainted “Istvan the Old Knight”. This is the first bounty job you should do for Tanith.

The location for this is even marked on the map. You need to head back to Limgrave in front of the Coliseum to the north. Here appears on the way in front of a red invasion icon on the floor.

Interact with it to invade the world of Istvan. If you have defeated the knight, you will receive this after returning to your world Scale armor set as a reward. Return to Tanith and tell her about completing the quest. As a reward, she will give you the magic “Magma Shot”.

Rileigh the Idle (2nd quest)

Reload the area and then go back into the drawing room to find the next letter from House Vulcan on the table. For the second order you should eliminate Rileigh the idle. His position will be yours on the narrow way below the bridge of sin marked, which leads to the Schattenburg in the north of the Altus Plateau.

Have you used the red call symbol and defeated Rileigh, you will be given the talisman “Crepus’ Vial” and 20x Plague Bolts rewarded. Speak to Tanith and you will also receive the Serpentbone Blade katana as a quest reward.

Juno Hoslow, Knight of Blood (3rd Mission)

Reload the area again to take the third and final quest in the drawing room. This time it’s one red letter who is chasing you “Juno Hoslow, Knight of Blood” sends. The invasion symbol for it will give you to the north-west of the mountain peak of the giants just before the hut of the exalted marked.

At the beginning of the fight you will get it Gesture “Hoslow’s Oath” and after you get the victory you get Hoslow’s armor set and Hoslow’s Blossom Whip. Turn in the quest to Tanith to receive the Raider’s Cameo talisman as a reward.

A notice: If you killed Rykard before Juno Hoslow, you can find the talisman where you picked up the Red Letter on the table in Vulcan House.

Visit the prince

After completing the last quest, Tanith will ask you if you “Visit the Prince” want. If you agree, you will then be promoted directly in front of Lord Rykard’s boss portal (Place of Grace “Audience Path”). You can only reach this place if you fight your way through the entire Legacy Dungeon.

Once you have defeated Rykard, return to Tanith. She thanks you for your services and says she will be leaving House Vulcan soon. Rest at the point of mercy by the fireplace and she and her bodyguard will be gone.

Kill Tanith and defeat her bodyguard

You will meet Tanith again in the Rykard battle arena, where she feasts on his corpse. You can kill her here with that Tanith’s Knights then invades your world. Defeat him to receive the invocation “Aspect of the Crucible: Breath” as a reward. Where you killed Tanith, you can now also find her clothes (Mate’s Armor Set) loot.

Give dancer castanets to Tanith

It is possible to give Tanith the Dancer’s Castanets from Patches’ quest line. However, this does not seem to have any significant effect. You get nothing for it, and it doesn’t advance Tanith’s quest either.
