Elden Ring: Kenneth Haight – Quest Solution

Kenneth Haight is one of the many NPCs that you will encounter in the Elden Ring and is extremely talkative. He gives you the task of liberating his fortress. In our walkthrough we guide you through all the steps of his quest and reveal what happens when you kill Kenneth.

Find Kenneth Haight

If you haven’t met Kenneth Haight yet, let’s start with his location. He stands just north of the cloud forest in Limgrave, on top of the ruins above the path with the many demihumans. You can hear his loud pleas for help from afar. So go ahead and talk to him.

He asks you to liberate his fortress south of the cloud forest, which has been taken by a knight commander. If you talk to him a few more times, he’ll promise you a reward and give you more info.

Find and liberate Fort Haight

The fortress is not too difficult to find. If you follow the main path south through the cloud forest, you are heading straight for the fortress, which is located at the south-eastern tip of the coast located. There is a Place of Mercy west of the fortress and you can also find a Golden Seed just outside the entrance.

In front of and inside the fortress you can summon your Spirit Ashes to make things easier. Many rats, soldiers and demi-humans await you here in the inner courtyard. Run up the stairs to the castle wall, where the great knight commander is already waiting for you. He drops the Ashes of War Bloody Slash, one of the best weapon talents in the game in our opinion. So feel free to try it out.

Now, before you go back to Kenneth and report back, you should Climb the ladder to the top of the towerbecause there you will find half of Dectus’ medallion in the chest, which will be important again later.

Report back to Kenneth

Now go back to Kenneth and bring him the good news. As thanks, he rewards you with the Earthsteel Dagger. After that, talk to him several times to learn that he will now return to the fortress. He will also ask you if you want to put yourself in his service. Accept this offer.

Find Kenneth in the fortress

If you now teleport yourself back to the fortress, you can Meet Kenneth again at the top of the keep wall, where you once defeated the knight. However, there are still monsters in the fortress, which Kenneth also complains about directly in conversation with you.

In further conversation with Kenneth you will learn that he is looking for a worthy successor to Godrick. Now there are a number of other requirements that must be met before you can complete Kenneth’s quest.

Complete Kenneth’s quest

Kenneth you can one last time in the throne room of Castle Stormveil. In order for him to go there, the following must be done requirements are fulfilled:

• talk to Kenneth in his fortafter eliminating the knight there (see previous step).
• Tracked Nepheli’s Quest and don’t give her Seluvis’ potion! Hand her the instead Ashes of the Stormhawk King, which you can find in the Chapel of Anticipation from the beginning of the game. To return there, you must use a magic sword key on the highest of the four bell towers.
• kills “Morgott, King of the Mark” at the Elden Throne in the royal capital of Leyndell.
• Rest 1 time at the place of mercy “Godrick the Transplanted” in front of the throne room in Castle Stormveil after defeating Morgott. A teleportation there is not enough, you have to sit at the place of mercy at least once.

If all of these conditions are met, Nepheli, Kenneth and Gatekeeper Gostoc now spawn in front of you in the throne room. Gostoc’s presence is optional. If you’ve killed him before, you can still complete Kenneth’s quest.

Unfortunately, he doesn’t give you another reward when you talk to him in the throne room. However, he promises to return to his fortress soon and then finally knight you. Also be sure to talk to Nepheli for one of the rare ones Ancient Dragonforging Stones to get from her.

Killing Kenneth Haight: What does he drop?

If you kill Kenneth Haight, he leaves as loot a golden seed and 500 runes back.
