Drone manufacturer DJI has been blacklisted in the United States

The US added according to the portal CNN manufacturer of drones, gimbal and action cameras DJI and seven other Chinese companies on the blacklist. The sanctions relate to violations of the human rights of minorities by the Chinese Communist regime.

Chinese companies on the sanctions list will not be able to buy American technology

The Treasury Department announced on Thursday that it had imposed investment restrictions on companies that helped violate human rights abuses against Chinese Uighur Muslims in Xinjiang and other ethnic and religious minorities.

DJI and seven other companies are already on the list, which means they are banned from buying American products or importing American technology without a special license. As a result, US investors will also be banned from buying or selling shares in these companies.

The announcement came a week after the Ministry of Finance imposed similar economic sanctions on two Chinese politicians and the Chinese company SenseTime, which deals with artificial intelligence. The company strongly denied the allegations.

DJI has declined to comment on the situation. However, China’s State Department criticized the United States on Wednesday after reports of planned sanctions in Washington. At a briefing, ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian called on the Biden administration to stop “politicizing” and abusing state power to unduly oppress specific sectors and businesses in China.

In addition to DJI, Megvii, Dawning Information Industry (Sugon), CloudWalk, Xiamen Meiya Pico, Leon Technology and NetPosa Technologies are also on the list.
