Navigation on Android
Navigation on Android has gone through several evolutions over the years. Originally, physical buttons, such as the home button, back button, and recent apps button, were the default navigation method on Android devices. These buttons were usually located at the bottom of the screen.

With the arrival of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, Google introduced virtual navigation buttons as an alternative to the physical buttons. These virtual buttons were displayed on the screen itself and gave users more flexibility.
However, the more recent versions of Android such as Android 9 Pie and Android 10 introduced a new trend: gesture navigation. Gesture controls allow users to navigate by simply swiping on the screen, without the need for buttons. This maximizes the screen and gives users a more intuitive navigation experience.

Gesture controls on Android usually include swipe gestures such as swiping from the bottom of the screen to go to the home screen, swiping from the side to go back, and swiping gestures to open recent apps or switch between apps.
The beauty of Android is that it’s customizable, so you can choose between virtual buttons or gesture controls depending on your personal preference. telephones with traditional navigation buttons are almost non-existent.
