‘Children are the victims’
“Unfortunately, babies and young children are the victims of all those impatient people, because they make noise, cry sometimes and have a hard time sitting still for long,” says Melissa. ‘You see more and more that people refuse to sit next to a child. How come? And what are airlines actually doing about this? ‘Eat those damn peanuts’
Airlines such as Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia offer ‘child-free’ zones. Melissa thinks that’s ridiculous. ‘Enjoying the advantages of being somewhere quickly also means that you will have to deal with other people (including children). Plus, most small children behave even better than the average adult. Because getting a tantrum because you don’t want to sit next to a kid for 45 minutes? Come on. Eat your damn peanuts, put on your headphones and meditate. Oh, and if not, just take an Uber.’
